Engineered Power That Goes Further. Power Glide 8 GLV‑1 0W‑8 Performance Motor Oil

To propel these hefty, yet capable, luxury vehicles, a large volume of air is required to be fed into two powerful turbochargers. The stock airboxes that provide this air utilize restrictive panel filters and artificially limit air volume. With a few small tweaks, however, a more efficient system with increased flow capacity that yields more power can be achieved. That is exactly what Dinan has done with the revised and improved carbon fiber cold air intake system for the M550i and M850i. Retaining the factory lower boxes for simplicity but enlarging the air box lids via the removal of the unused "U" channels afforded the opportunity to be able to not only increase volume by 54%, but also allowed the use of bespoke high-flow cone filters with 22% more surface area than the factory panel filters. The improvements continue down the intake tract with the enlarged volume of air transitioning into an organically shaped intake pipe that grants a more natural and unhindered flow path into the turbo. The combination of these improved features means the engine is allowed to ingest more cold air with less restriction resulting in top end gains of +17 WHP / +18 ft-lbs of torque.

KLM Race: About Us

ABOUT KLM RACE

DYNO TESTED.
RACE PROVEN.

THE BEGINNING

In 2015, KLM Race started in a small industrial storage unit with no heat, no AC, and no shortcuts.

It was just long hours, extreme conditions, and a commitment to figure things out the hard way. Working through 100+ degree summers and freezing winters, building parts by hand, and pushing forward without outside funding or a safety net, just a vision, and the willingness to bet everything on getting it right.

FROM HONDA TO BMW

What began with fabricating Honda manifolds and parts, quickly evolved into something bigger. Early investment in a CNC machine and dyno allowed for real development, months of testing, refining, and dialing things in until the results spoke for themselves.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

Today, KLM Race operates as a full-scale fabrication and machine shop specializing in high-performance BMW platforms. From complete engine builds to turbo kits and precision-machined components, everything we produce is built with purpose and backed by real race proven results.

BUILT IN-HOUSE

In an industry where many companies rely on reselling and drop-shipping, KLM Race takes a different approach.

We design, machine, and build as much as possible in-house. When a component can't be produced internally, it is carefully sourced, rigorously tested, and held to the same standards as the parts we manufacture ourselves. Nothing is added to our lineup unless we trust it completely.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE WORK

But what truly sets KLM apart is the people behind the work.

The same individuals machining and assembling these engines are the ones who care about how they perform. There's no disconnect between production and outcome, every part is built by people who take pride in doing it right, not just getting it done.

We don't cut corners. We don't chase shortcuts. We prioritize quality, performance, and results, every single time.

We've grown a lot since those early days, but the mindset hasn't changed.

TESTED UNDER PRESSURE. PROVEN UNDER POWER.

WHO WE ARE

THE TEAM

KLM Race is more than a shop, it's a team of people who take pride in what they build.

From machinists and engine builders to the guys who step in wherever needed, everyone here plays a role in the final product. There's no disconnect between the work and the outcome. The same people behind the machines are the ones who care about how everything performs.

Everyone has their place. Everyone contributes. And that shared standard is what keeps our quality consistent and our work reliable.

This isn't just what we do, it's who we are.

WHERE WE BUILD

THE FACILITY

KLM Race operates out of two dedicated buildings, each serving a critical role in how we work.

BUILDING ONE

Machine Shop

Our machine shop is where parts are designed, machined, and brought to life. With CNC equipment and a focus on precision, this is where raw material becomes the foundation of everything we build.

BUILDING TWO

Engine Assembly & Dyno

Our second building is dedicated to engine assembly, vehicle work, and performance testing. Equipped with lifts and an in-house dyno, this is where engines are not only built, but proven.

By separating machining, assembly, and testing, we're able to stay focused, efficient, and consistent at every stage of the process.

From raw material to dyno-proven performance, everything is handled in-house, giving us full control over quality, fitment, and results.
